Kid's Commentary

I went to get a little video of just Noah, and it turned into a family affair. My voice was pretty raspy last week anyway, but it is funny to hear Daniel and Rachel interact without seeing them, and also just to see how Noah just takes it all in.

Weekly update

Here is a quick update from the week. We were surprised with a visit from our college friend Rex. He lives in Houston now with his family, and was in town for work. His wife is expecting a little boy early next year, so we gave him some baby boy practice.
The rest of the week we focused on getting over the colds and just relaxed after a very productive early part of the week.
Here is a movie time before bed. Lately Daniel has done better napping in a sleeping bag in the livingroom then in his bed, so that has been a good change this week. I am also picking up some time management tricks from Diane and feel a little less overwhelmed with the three of them, let's hope it lasts :-).
Here is Noah in a cute new outfit. It felt a little Fall-y this weekend, and with school starting back up and pumpkin flavored coffee out there no question that it is that time of year again.

Last week was the working week this week is the social one. We are meeting up with another college friend tomorrow, and have a few play dates set up now that we are feeling better. We miss you though Kevin, and can't wait to see you Friday!

Seven Weeks, Two Weeks, and One Cold

Noah is seven weeks old today, Kevin is gone for two weeks, and he left us with a cold that Rachel has and we are trying not to spread. It was a good weekend with Kevin's parents, we went to the beach with them, and Diane and I are having a very productive week so far. We made a whole bunch of meals, organized the kids clothes (very big), went through closets, and plan on organizing the kids toys next. Not to mention I have been able to nap, and am able to recharge a little while she is here.

Here are some pictures of the kids, it is looking like Noah's hair has a wave to it...and could it be that he will have blue eyes?!

We got the kids new underwear, and are still at the beginning stages of potty training Rachel. If we catch her, she will go in the potty, and of course she needed the princess underwear.

I just thought this was a cute pose. As we were organizing the kids clothes we found a winter hat that went with her summer outfit, so of course she put it on and we went for a walk. She is at the scrape your knees daily stage, but getting faster and faster every day. Do I have another little runner on my hands? Talking about running, I tried to go for a jog this morning, and it hurt, but it is a start.
Here is a peaceful Noah...and he weighs 13 lbs now. He is not in the 0-3 month clothes anymore, which is bittersweet, but he is such a good kid, it is fun to watch him develop his own personality and smile at us.
I know the kids miss daddy, but they go downstairs and look for Memere every morning, and it helps out a lot. I have a lot of things on my laundry list of things to do, and I may actually get a bunch of stuff done this week!

I'll have more pictures, but for now this will have to do

We got back from New Bedford on Sunday and had a great time with Kevin's family. We got to meet Renee's little dog punkin, see Lila, and all the other new and growing kids in the family. I have mostly pictures with Rachel in them, Daniel stayed at another home with Kevin's parents, which was cute because Daniel got his little suitcase ready to go and left at night and came back in the morning.

Noah and his great grandfather.
Rachel, Renee, me and Lila.
Here Rachel is eating one of the most famous Ma's donuts. They are hands down the best donuts ever, you can't make a trip down there and not have any.
So we get to spend a little more time with Kevin's parents this week, and they took most of the good pictures with all the kids and stuff so I will post them later when I get them too.

Here and there

Last weekend we picked up the kids from NY. It was a good week for them to be away, but good to have them back, a good time to reset and rest. Daniel can really ride his bike very well now, and we have a little bike that is easier for Rachel to ride too. Rachel also has a new love for sidewalk chalk, and Daniel has learned how to appreciate garages.

My three amigos...I did try to take them all to the mall this week by myself, and it was alright, but still a little too hard to do it too often.
Three necklaces enough?
Daniel has a new Mack truck, with a trailer, for all his cars. I can make a little road for the cars and the kids can play for hours in the front of our home.
That was here, and now we are getting ready to go to New Bedford tomorrow. Daniel has his map out and is looking at where Pepere lives and that we need to take the gray car there. It will be Noah's first visit and I'm looking forward to meeting my new niece Lila.

It doesn't look like there are any more open weekends this summer for us, and the next few weeks are going to be busy with Kevin be gone for a quick business trip next week, and from Aug 24th thru Labor Day. My mother in law will be in town helping me out with the kids, and it will be good to spend some time with her and the kids. It is funny that Kevin was gone for a few weeks when Daniel was first born too...it must be a boy thing. A blessing to report is that Noah is starting to sleep for a few more hours, than just three at night, and it's really helping me out during the day. I appreciate that Noah is easy going in car trips, traveling, and with his siblings, what a blessing.

I'll leave you with a moment with the kids, it still cracks me up to think of the things you find yourself saying to them:

Noah at One Month

This week with just one kid went by very quickly. I kept thinking of all the things I could do with just one kid in tow, and it came down to coming home and resting with him.

Noah is now one month old, and I have learned a little more about him this week. He is a true thumb sucker, he will use his own when he finds it, but likes to also suck on my thumb, and pacifier once in a while. Instead of really spitting up, the milk seems to go through the nose, which is a new thing for me. He is already 11 lbs, and eats very well, but also takes a bottle of which I am thankful. He loves the car seat and traveling, there is not one sound when we are in the car. Last of all he is cooing already, and I think he misses the extra noise that the other two seem to bring. As Kevin puts is...he is a good kid.

It was a God sent that the other two weren't here this week, Kevin worked some very late hours, and the rest for me was very helpful. My parents were good with webcaming and texting pictures and updates of the kids, and I look forward to seeing what they have been doing all week. Next weekend we will have time with Kevin's family, and I look forward to introducing Noah to them, meeting the new little cousin, and other new kids in the family. This summer is really going by quick now!

A little too quiet....

Here is Rachel at a picnic at Kevin's work this week...
Daniel enjoying some time at VBS...
Noah enjoying time in the sling...
The kids enjoying time together...

It has been a little bit busy with Kevin and Daniel doing VBS last week, and then the quick trip to NY this past weekend. Daniel did enjoy VBS calling it a party at church, and it was fun to hear him tell me what he did through his eyes. I had some time one on one time with Rachel, we made cookies, painted, read books, watched princess movies, and painted our nails together.

The weekend in NY was fun, but quick, and my parents offered to keep the kids with them for a few extra days, which I took them up on. Daniel and Rachel were having fun with the dogs, cats, and outdoors. I am in need of a little extra sleep with Noah and Kevin has a lot on his plate with work right now, so we just brought Noah back with us, and will pick up the kids in a few days. That being said, it is a lot quieter around here, and right now just one young kid is so easy. For now I have some time with Noah and Kevin, and I will try not to miss my other two too much, and will get some rest. Hope you all have a restful week as well!
