Of Numbers and Cookies

I try to be a good mom and sing the ABC's and count to 10 on a daily basis.  Well, one day I was counting and I stopped at 6 not thinking he was listening.  I heard the little voice say seven (in his words) and so I kept on going.  I had a little cookie ready and the camera rolling later that day to catch it on tape.

Softball Tournament 2008

Happy Memorial Day!  So here are a few photos of our weekend with the annual church Softball tournament.  Below we see our pretzel loving daughter.  I know she gets that from her father.  She is carb loading for the Softball tournament, it is usually a long day.

So at the softball fields they were clearing out some of the trees and there were a bunch of construction trucks and a lot of dirt around.  Guess where the boys headed!  Daniel loved the tractors, and if he snuck away that is were you could find him.
There were three fields that the games were played on, so for each game we had to bring all out stuff to the different fields.  Our friend Kristina was a huge help with watching the kids (she is the one pushing the stroller), although Daniel almost made it out onto one of the fields during the game.  He was pushing his truck and I think lost track of where he was.  When the kids got tired, I took them for a drive and did some yard sales.   I found two bikes for Daniel, one for now, and one for when he gets a little older, and all for under $20! Kevin has one of the bikes below in his hand.
A little action shot of Kevin playing softball.  Daniel enjoys throwing balls around the house, maybe some baseball playing is in his future, although he seems to really enjoy basketball right now.
Hope you all have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!

An evening with Mr. John Williams

So last night Kevin and I went into Boston to see John Williams conduct the Boston Pops for a film night.  It was pretty exciting that 1.) We went out into Boston and didn't get lost, 2.) Didn't even worry about the kids, and 3.) Saw John Williams conduct a bunch of favorite film scores that he wrote himself.  As you can see below we were right at the front and could read and see the sheet music, the violinist in front of me chewed on a piece of gum during the whole performance.  I have always admired John Williams work even from a child, we are the family who likes to download film scores and soundtracks.  The music looked very complicated and it was great to see professionals at work.  He finished his scheduled songs and then came back out and played a work from the new Indiana Jones and from ET.  It was cool where we sat we could get a beverage service and snack, and we did.  The last time we did anything as a couple in Boston was before Daniel was born, so it was nice evening.

Don't worry I will have more to post this weekend.  We have a few events planned this Memorial Day weekend and I will have the camera poised and ready.

Baby pictures

I have been wanting to post this comparison for a while, and needed to wait until we got Rachel's pictures taken.  We got them taken on Friday, and they turned out so great.  But here are pictures of Rachel and of me as a baby:
I thought that was fun to see.  I am going to rest the remainder of the evening, I am running the Lowell 1/2 marathon tomorrow. I think it is going to be a fine event. Kevin was so blessed to be able to go to the Virginia Tech-Boston College game tonight, go Hokies!!

Happy Mother's day

I was reading today how the woman who created Mother's day wasn't married, neither had kids of her own, but wanted a day to honor her own mother. Later in her life she regreted the holiday because of it's commercialism, but I am sitting here enjoying the day and the time I have had with my family. So thank you for the day. And happy Mother's Day!

So Rachel is enjoying eating, she espcially loves to snack on pretzels. It is funny to watch her pick up and enjoy the food, I have been blessed with two children who enjoy eating.

This week we got a chance to watch our friend's kids for the evening and I got a picture of them all. We were watching Cars, so I guess they were all mezermized, but it is a good picture all the same.

Can you see the two bottom teeth?

This is a nice action shot of Keving teaching Daniel how to dunk. Kevin still has the touch.

Family Photo time

So I am writing this from Kevin's comptuer still and our other computer is still down, but I have at least one picture to show. Kevin returned from FL on Friday and I got through another week with the kids and myself. On Saturday we got our family photos taken, and we actally got some good ones! When we went in I told the lady that I had very low expectations and that we will go with what we got, because I have had some very nerve wracking picture moments with the kids, but the secret this time was jelly beans!! Anytime we wanted Daniel to do anything we offered him candy, and he did very well. Later on in the day we had a birthday party so he had another good helping of sugar, oh well, he was having fun. I have a lot more pictures I want to post, but that will have to be for another time. We had an open house for our home in NH today, and I don't know how it went, but we are still going with our home. Happy May everyone and have a blessed week.
